File & Resource Crashes
Quick answer
If the server is stable until one specific item is equipped, or the log names a .ydd, you are looking at a single broken file — not a limit.
Difficulty: Intermediate · Affects: both · Error string CONFIRMED
INFO
Search: invalid fixup, corrupt ydd, specific item crash, one clothing item, truncated file.
Invalid fixup
Invalid fixup, address is neither virtual nor physical (in example.ydd)The named file has a broken internal fixup table. In practice: the .ydd is corrupt, was exported incorrectly, or was truncated in transit. The same error class applies to YFT and YBN files.
The filename in the message is the useful part. Start there.
| Situation | Action |
|---|---|
| Open files pack | Re-export or restore that file from a clean copy |
| Escrowed pack | Contact the seller with the exact log line — do not attempt to decrypt |
| Only one player crashes | Their local copy is truncated. Have them re-download; clearing cache is justified here |
Crash on one specific item
Narrow it down before assuming anything:
- Which gender?
- Which component or prop? For example
jbib(11),feet(6),p_head(prop 0). - Which drawable index?
- Which texture letter,
athroughz?
Equip neighbouring items to confirm the boundary. If drawable 041 crashes and 040 and 042 are fine, you have isolated one file pair.
Then remove that single .ydd and its textures and restart. If the crash stops, the file is the cause.
What this is not
WARNING
A crash on one item is not a YMT limit. Capacity crashes happen when the ped model loads, regardless of what is equipped. If the server is stable until a specific item is worn, capacity is not your problem — see Capacity Crashes to rule it out.
When cache actually matters
Everywhere else in these docs, clearing cache is the wrong first move. This page is the exception: if one player crashes on a file that works for everyone else, a truncated download is a real possibility, and forcing a re-download is a legitimate test.
It is still not the first step. Confirm the file works for other players first.
